Central Finishes Strong in Jammin' for Jackets

After a tough loss to Little Rock Mills in what was an early-season rematch, the Tigers bounced back well to finish the annual Jammin' for Jackets Tournament with a pair of wins. Central defeated Baptist Prep (6-2), 74-65, on Friday night to bounce back from its first loss of the season. Senior guard AJ Williams scored 13 points, as did Jeremiah Jones who provided a spark off the bench for the Tigers. Senior forward Dajun Brewer earned a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Each of the nine Tigers who entered the game scored from the field; five Tigers finished in double figures. On Saturday, Central defeated in-city foe J.A. Fair, 45-41, in its final game of the weekend to improve to 6-1. The Tigers are back in action next weekend in Conway's Bank OZK Classic, where Central will face 7A West opponents Van Buren and Fayetteville.
